"A joyful birthing experience is achieved by knowing what to do when the time comes and being adequately prepared so you can perform as a team
Robert A. Bradley, M.D.
A complete series of Bradley Method® classes consists of one 2-hour class each week for 12 weeks. These classes cover childbirth education, coach training, pregnancy nutrition, pregnancy exercises, relaxation training, labor rehearsals from class 5, breastfeeding, postpartum preparation, and much more. Videos are shown in 8 of my 12 classes and all of my students have access to my lending library of books and videos.
The book Natural Childbirth the Bradley® Way by Susan McCutcheon is required for my classes. It is available through Barnes and Noble in Tupelo, or it may be purchased new or used at www.amazon.com.
I encourage my students to have an assistant coach or doula to support the coach during labor and delivery. The couple should feel comfortable and work well with the person they choose. Assistant coaches are expected to attend most if not all of The Bradley Method® classes with the couple at no additional charge.
Series of classes are scheduled according to the due dates of preregistered students. Class days and times are scheduled around work and school schedules of registered couples. Holidays are always considered, and classes are scheduled around those days for family convenience.
Currently, a full series of Bradley Method® classes is scheduled to begin November 8, 2015. This series would be appropriate for those with due dates in mid February, March, and early April.
It takes 3 months to complete a full series of Bradley Method® classes. To insure time to complete a full series and to insure placement in a series, please register by your 5th month of pregnancy - 6th month at the latest. How to register.
Trained couples who have completed a full series of Bradley Method® classes are encouraged to attend the subsequent series (if available) until their baby is born.
The fee is $350 for a complete series of Bradley Method® classes. The first $50 (supply fee) must be received by class 1. The remaining balance of $300 may be paid in full by the first class, or may be paid on a payment schedule if preferred.
Any past students of mine who would like to take a series of classes as a refresher course with a new pregnancy can do so for a discounted price of $200. Past students pay the same $50 supply fee due by class 1 and balance payment options as stated above.
A $20 discount on the remaining balance will be given to a couple for referring another couple when they all take the same scheduled series of classes. Bartering is a possibility. Gift registries & gift certificates are available.
A doula is a labor coach that provides continuous labor support. This person has traditionally been a woman who has had her own birth experience(s). Currently, many doulas are trained and certified as well. When hiring a Doula, it is very important to hire someone that you feel comfortable with. Be sure to discuss your needs and expectations when choosing your Doula. Don't stop there, do the same for each member of the birth team you create for yourself (Midwife/OB, birthplace, nurses). Placenta encapsulation is the process of drying, pulverizing, and filling capsules with the mother's own placenta.
Studies have found the placenta to be composed of many beneficial hormones, chemicals, iron, and proteins which "reduce or stop postpartum bleeding, speed up recovery, boost energy, and relieve postpartum blues". Additional benefits for baby have been found to be mother's increased milk production as well as higher levels of protein and lactose in the breastmilk. As a result, newborns experience a greater growth rate which aids in the recovery from initial weight loss. www.placentawise.com/research-studies-supporting-placenta-encapsulation/
I currently charge $200 for placenta encapsulation. Please Call or email to learn more or to schedule.
